Storyboarding involves creating a visual sequence of how a story/multimedia product will unfold. It:
- is a powerful tool used by educators to cater to diverse learning styles and engage students in their learning
- assists students to make decisions about how things will look and behave in a multimedia product, and if any changes need to be made
- can be adapted to suit the product being created. For example, a website storyboard usually includes one panel for each page on the site, whereas for filmmaking, each panel usually represents a camera shot and includes details about what the camera will see and show.

How to use with ICT
Storyboarding offers powerful opportunities for students to pair creativity with technology and explore digital narrative creation. Students can use the digital environment in multiple ways, to represent their layout ideas. When ready, it is easy for storyboards to be shared. For example, they can be embedded on websites, presented as slideshows or comic strip layouts and uploaded and shared.
Project a suitable template or storyboard sample for students to use as a working model. Consider collaborating as a class using Storyboarder.

High potential and gifted learning and support
When planning to use technology in the classroom it is important to consider the full range of abilities of all learners. High potential and gifted learners may require additional adjustments and deliberate talent development. These strategies include differentiation, grouping, enrichment and advanced learning pathways so students can be engaged, grow and achieve their personal best.
Assessing and identifying high potential and gifted learners will help teachers decide which students may benefit from extension and additional challenge. Effective strategies and contributors to achievement for high potential and gifted learners helps teachers to identify and target areas for growth and improvement.
