Investigating our ancient Aboriginal past

© State of New South Wales, Department of Education.

In this lesson students explore the importance of country and place to Aboriginal people, with a focus on the Darug proper of the North West Sydney region. Students examine a range of evidence about the Darug to help answer the questions ‘Who lived here first?’ and ‘How do we know?’. Sydney Metro’s education program allows teachers to use major infrastructure projects as a real life teaching tool for years K to 10. This resource aims to support students along the Sydney Metro alignment to become successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed citizens.
