Team Member Financial Obligations:
Team members who are deemed to be unfinancial will be ineligible for selection until they have met their financial obligations. Individuals in the secondary program will also be ineligible for consideration to receive an association blue.
Students must compete at the Sydney East championships in order to allow them to be considered for selection in the Sydney East team to compete at the state championships, unless they are:
i) competing at another school based championships or competition.
Any athlete competing at another competition of equal or higher standing to the Sydney East competition may submit a result for consideration for inclusion. The athlete must be representing Sydney East Association, New South Wales or Australia at the time of the Sydney East athletics championships.
The submitted result must be ratified by the school principal of the school the student is attending as well as the zone convener. The submission must be in writing and must be given to the Sydney East convener or executive officer no later than two weeks prior to the date set down for the Sydney East SSA Athletics championships unless a delay in the zone championships has made the date of the zone championships within two weeks of the Sydney East athletics championships.
The submitted distance, time or height must be from the zone carnival in the same year of competition and meet the qualifying standard set down for the NSWCHSSA athletics championships if it is to be considered. This is referred to in the following as the submitted result. The submitted result must be in writing on the appropriate form and must include the result from the zone carnival in the same year of competition and must be ratified by the school principal of the school that the student attends as well as the zone convener.
ii) If the prevailing conditions preclude the coordination of event at the venue on the day, competitors will be invited to submit times/heights/distances to be considered. These submitted entry marks may be from the zone carnival, with the exception that it does not necessarily have to meet the CHS qualifying standards, or may be from competitions endorsed by NSW/Australian affiliated athletics championships. However, they must have been achieved in the same year of competition prior to the Sydney East championships, and must be ratified by the school principal of the school that the student attends as well as the zone convener.
Please note: A request for consideration of entry by submission does not necessarily result in a student being selected in the Sydney East team to compete at the NSWCHSSA championships.
