Primary - Zones may send up to Eight (8) competitors per Division, per Zone or Combined Zone. 

Secondary - Zones may run up to 10 runners in all age divisions up to and including 18+ years.

Zones may send up to two (2) entries per age/gender division for Athletes competing in Multi-class event (qualifying time must be met)

Managers are the only ones allowed on the course/recording area during the championship.

No parents and/or spectators are permitted in this area. It is each Zone’s Manager’s responsibility to ensure their parents/spectators are aware of this prior to the commencement of the championship.

 

Officials

Primary - Two zone managers and one official from each zone are required to attend. 

Secondary - Two zone managers and 4 officials from each zone are required to attend. 

The 2 Team managers are entitled to relief for Wednesday 9 June 2021.

Rules and conditions

Primary - Zones may run up to Eight (8) competitors per Division, per Zone or Combined Zone, from whom six (6) must finish in each division for their Teams pointscores. 

Invitational Athletes:

Any athlete wishing to apply as an 'Invitational Athlete' for this event must meet both selection criteria below:

1. Representing Sydney West PSSA on higher duties; and

2. Must have placed in the top 10 at previous years Sydney West Cross Country Championships. 

Invitation requests can ONLY be submitted by the Zone Team Manager. Sydney West Conveners have the right to dismiss requests that do not meet the criteria stated above. Sydney West Conveners decision is final. 

Secondary - Zones may run up to Ten (10) individual runners in all age divisions up to and including 18+ years.

Invitational entries must be included in the 10 runners - no additional runners will be accepted. Zones may want to consider naming 8  runners leaving space for special entries if required.

Athletes competing in Multi-Class events

Zones may send up to two (2) entries per age/gender division (as above)

Categories to be Eligible are: Intellectually Disabled – ID (T20), Hearing Impaired – HI (T01), Physical Impairment (PI). This will be restricted to Cerebral Palsy (T35, T36, T37 or 38) or Amputee T45 or 46 or Visually Impaired T11, T 12 &T13 

Each runner will be timed and the winners will be determined by a comparison against the standard time

1. To meet the requirements of progressing to the State Championship, runners will need to reach a qualifying time (see below)

2. Individual entries sent directly to the convener (as well as the Sydney West Office).

T20 (Intellectual Disability) - Must have a AUSRAPID card

T01 (Hearing Impaired) - Competitors must have a current audiogram signifying a bilateral, sensori-neural hearing loss, the better ear being equal or greater than 55 decibels over 3 frequencies.

T11, T12, T13 (Visually Impaired) - Classification forms are to be completed by an ophthalmologist and classification forms may be otained by contacting Pat Downey from the Blind Sporting Association of NSW on Tel: 9638 7075.

T35, T36, T37, T38 (Cerebral Palsy) - Athletes with a physical disability are required to have a provisional/national classification. Visit the Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) website http://www.paralympic.org.au for more information.

T45, T46 (Amputee) - Athletes with a physical disability are required to have a provisional/national classification. Visit the Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) website http://www.paralympic.org.au for more information.

Secondary Girls – 6 min/ km or 18 mins

Secondary Boys – 5 min/km or 15mins 

All Runners need to be at the venue at least 1 hour prior to the start of their race.

  1. Each competitor who finishes will be given a place ticket with his/her position on it. Those who fail to finish shall be recorded as last place plus one.
  2. Each competitor is to report to the recording table with their place ticket.
  3. Students must compete in their zone singlet/t-shirt. Any student without a shirt will be disqualified. Students must compete in shoes.

Primary - Six (6) Runners in each age group/division will proceed to NSW All Schools Cross Country Championships.

Secondary - Ten (10) runners in each age group/division will proceed to the NSW All Schools Cross Country Championship. Top 8 are automatic with the next 2 places at the conveners discretion.

 

This Sydney West team will compete at NSW All Schools Cross Country on Friday 16th July 2021 at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek.
