Welcome back to 2021.

We are happy to advise that all aspects of the Representative School Sport Pathway including State Championships can recommence from Term 1, 2021.

Weekly inter-school competitions, knock-out competitions and gala days may also recommence.

Schools should regularly check for updated information on the Department’s Practical Guide for Sport and Physical Activity (updated 8 February 2021).

When using external venues, event organisers must contact the venue to negotiate and adhere to current NSW Health protocols. Schools should make organisational decisions based on local context, specific to each venue and event. The appropriate  COVID-19 Safety Plan of the venue or organiser must also be adopted.

School, Zone and Association swimming championships are permitted to take place during Term 1. The capacity to include spectators at the venue in a designated area is permitted, where it meets the venue’s safety plan regarding numbers and appropriate physical distancing.

NB: The new Safe Water Entry for Competitions-Competitive Dive Starts have been released. These guidelines are required to be implemented for the commencement of Term 1, 2021 and therefore are in play for the swimming carnival/championship season in school sport.  This compliance resource is available in the Sport Safety Guidelines
