School Sport Unit

The Para-sport Equipment Fund is a joint initiative between the Australian Paralympic Committee and Sport Australia. The goal of this initiative is to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to participate and compete in Para-sport by helping families cover the outlay of high-cost Para-sport equipment. This initiative is also available to all students still within the school system, not just those who are already a part of the Representative School Sport pathway.

A major initiative of the Fund is building up an asset bank of loan equipment so that competitors who wish to compete but cannot afford to purchase customised equipment can still participate.

The School Sport Unit sees this as a wonderful opportunity and encourages all interested schools or school groups to consider this offering.

There will be 5 rounds of funding over the next 18 months. Applications for the second round of funding opens on the 3rd of May.
