Running and Walking are one of the first fundamental movement skills we all develop as children. They are also both excellent forms of cardiovascular exercise.

As we endeavour to get more and more students (and teachers) active – the School Sport Unit and the Premier’s Sporting Challenge have entered into a number of partnerships with community walking / running groups and events to encourage families, students and teachers to become more active.

These partnerships successfully trialled at the RunWest Festival earlier this year will see many events including school and student competitions plus school incentives and fundraising options.

Importantly, the school is not labile for any incident involving a student and the school is not required to attend, supervise or transport students to and from these events. Parent / Caregivers registering themselves or a child (18 years and under) do so acknowledging they are responsible for their movements, logistics and actions on the day.
