Students and parents should contact their school sports organiser to discuss participation in School Sport Unit Inclusive sport events as well as in the representative school sport pathway in order to identify processes to access the zone and regional championships.
The classification system groups athletes with similar impairments into categories for competition. It allows athletes with an impairment equal opportunities to compete and be successful in sport.
Classification systems vary across different sports.
To compete in Multi-Class events each athlete must undergo a sport-specific classification assessment and hold a classification class.
For more information visit our classification page.
Multi-Sport days provide an opportunity for students to be introduced to a variety of sports. The days are held throughout the state and during the day students are allocated to groups and experience playing different sports. Usually students participate in four or five sports for periods of up to 40 minutes. The days are well supported by state and national sporting associations, and it is hoped that following the day students will be encouraged to participate further in sport.
