What is iPLAY?

iPLAY is an evidence-based professional learning program aimed at improving the quality of school sport and physical education. Teachers learn skills and strategies to conduct sport and physical education lessons that engage and motivate students and improve behaviour and learning. iPLAY has been shown to improve teacher confidence, and increase student physical activity and fitness levels

iPLAY is a collaboration of the Australian Catholic University, University of Newcastle, and the Department of Education School Sport Unit. You can find more information about iPLAY in this short video.

Teachers learn skills and strategies to conduct sport and physical education lessons that engage and motivate students and improve behaviour and learning. iPLAY has been shown to improve teacher confidence, and increase student physical activity and fitness levels.

  • 14 hours of NESA registered TPL at ‘Proficient’ level for all teachers who complete the training
  • extra 13 hours offered at ‘Highly Accomplished’ level for up to 3 iPLAY leaders in each school

  • individualised feedback and mentoring by an experienced iPLAY Mentor for all teachers
