Program suspended until Friday 20 August
In line with the Premier’s announcement regarding the extension of COVID-19 restrictions and due to concerns for our students, staff and families, the School Swimming and Water Safety program has been suspended until Friday 20 August.
We will investigate dates and venues with a view to running these learn to swim and water safety lessons later in the year and will provide updates for staff and schools.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Registrations for the 2021/2022 season have closed. Please contact the School Swimming and Water Safety office to enquire about late registration options.
Stay water safe this summer!
About the program
As Australians, we spend a lot of our time in and around the water; it’s a big part of our culture. For this reason, it’s important that our students learn water safety and survival skills, so that they can continue to enjoy aquatic activities.
To help achieve this goal, the Department of Education (DoE) runs the School Swimming and Water Safety Program. This is a Government-funded program that is free for students. All that’s required is that the schools meet pool entry and transport costs.
