At a time when student access to learn to swim lessons has been restricted, it is imperative that our students learn key water safety measures to support their safety in, around and on water. A series of learning sequences with engaging animations has been created to support schools in delivering multiple water safety messages. These messages teach students how to behave in aquatic environments and be responsible in, on and around water.
The units of learning address five key water safety messages for each of the three stages. The five topics addressed throughout the units of learning, animations and teaching resources are:
- How to stay safe in and around water
- Personal safety
- Aquatic settings
- Personal survival
- Rescue safely
