Introduction
The School water safety program (Survival swimming) is an intensive program conducted on 5 consecutive school days and is focused on survival skills. Students will explore self-management skills in different aquatic environments and how to be responsible for their own and others’ health, safety and wellbeing.
All Year 2-6 students in NSW government schools and students attending Intensive English Centres are eligible to attend this program.
The program is presented by NSW Department of Education teachers who are also qualified in aquatic education.
This option is self-managed by the school with the support of the Swimming and Water Safety team.
