Primary

The primary school state knockout competition for NSW public schools is managed by the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association (NSWPSSA). Entries, draws and results are managed by the NSWPSSA Knockout Website.   

Secondary

The secondary school state wide competitions (formerly knockout competitions) for NSW public schools is coordinated at the regional level. The Sydney North Schools Sports Association draws of the NSWCHS state wide competitions are available through the School Sport DashApp.

The following sports will be conducted on a Sydney North SSA basis. Most sports are conducted as a knockout competition.

The rules for all state wide competitions within the Sydney North SSA will be based on the rules for that Sport as outlined in the NSWCHS Handbook.

Please note that ALL games MUST BE PLAYED BY THE PLAY-BY DATE as NSWCHS Final Series dates are already set.  Extensions of time will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.  Requests for extensions of time should only be made after the schools concerned have discussed the issue.

The WINNING SCHOOL must EMAIL DETAILS of the results within 2 DAYS following completing of the match to the convener concerned. 

 All teams attending matches must be accompanied by a teacher. There is no casual relief entitlement for any match. 

Progression to NSWCHS state wide competition Finals Series

The number of teams to progress in the decision of NSWCHSSA.

In sports where two Sydney North schools progress to the NSWCHS Knockout Finals Series, the following will apply: 

In sports where there is one Sydney North draw:

  • the winner of the top half of the draw will progress as Sydney North A
  • the winner of the bottom half of the draw will progress as Sydney North B

In sports where there are two Sydney North draws:

  • the winner of Sydney North draw 1 will progress as Sydney North A
  • the winner of Sydney North draw 2 will progress as Sydney North B

In sports where a Sydney North final is played:

  • the winner of Sydney North final will progress as Sydney North A
  • the “loser” of Sydney North final will progress as Sydney North B

Sydney North finalists progress to the state knockout finals series for each sport. These are managed by the NSW Combined High Schools Sports Association (NSWCHSSA).
